Sydney Olympic Park Food Experience

Sydney Olympic Park Authority (SOPA) invited lahznimmo architects to participate in a limited paid Competition to develop ideas and strategies for a new 4000 square metre Food and Retail development at Sydney Olympic Park, opposite the Olympic Stadium on the Olympic Boulevard. The program included temporary market facilities as well as sit down dining areas. lahznimmo’s strategy was to develop a “loose fit” outdoor arcade or “covered street”, which would create both a counterpoint to the scale of the Olympic Boulevard and surrounding landscape, as well as a backdrop for market activities to take place. Off this street a variety of larger dining pavilions are positioned overlooking the “Overflow” park area to the northeast.
