Ella McKay Profile


Ella McKay | Graduate of Architecture

Ella completed her Bachelor of Architecture (2021) and Master of Architecture (Professional) (2023) from Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand. She is passionate about design and big picture thinking demonstrated in her Master’s thesis; an urban-architectural regeneration scheme prioritising landscape and accessibility to better connect a city center. This project was selected and presented as a finalist for the NZIA Student Design Awards 2022.

Since 2018, Ella has gained practical experience in New Zealand, working in various architecture offices during her studies and then as a graduate on bespoke residential and commercial projects. Ella has also tutored design studios at the University of Technology Sydney and during her studies at Victoria University of Wellington.

Ella joined lahznimmo as a Graduate of Architecture in 2024 with a keen interest for multi-disciplinary practice and public design. She is involved in a range of projects at different scales and stages of documentation. Notable ongoing projects Ella has been involved with include; Lord Howe Island Infrastructure Program and Consultation, German Embassy in Canberra, Panania Library and Knowledge Centre, Blacktown Indoor Batting Centre and Kevin Hill Roberts Park Community Centre.

Ella is a contributing member of the AIA to continue growing her knowledge of the industry. She enjoys attending talks and seminars and presented at the AIA’s Emerging Architects launch event in 2025.
